HCN had 6 sites in 4 boroughs which offered support groups for recently released inmates, as well as organizing groups inside prisons. WM’s grant helped start a formal mentoring program which would offer stipends to women who had been incarcerated to serve as guides and supporters for the recently-released. Another part of the grant would be used to start a program for women and their children.
