Re-established in 1994 as The Community-Poem Project and then morphing into The Community Word Project in l997, this organization placed professional artists and interns in seven public schools. Our grant was to help support the expansion of a collaborative arts residency program.
CW has inspired over 14,000 children in the fields of writing, visual arts, video, music and performing. “If a child can’t express himself, he will be unable to advocate for himself.”
