CAR supported once-incarcerated men and their families to assure all rights of citizenship be restored to the newly-released and to help in their re-integration into the community. Founded in l992.
Although scrambling a bit for funds, CAR recently received a grant from The West Harlem Development Corporation to establish a program in nearby public housing projects to aid transition from incarceration to employment. Their core programs (classes in anger management, provision of metro cards and winter coats) continue.
