Building Beats provides DJ and music programs that teach entrepreneurial, leadership and life skills to underserved youth. Working in partnership with community organizations, Building Beats offers workshops in low-income neighborhoods across NYC that teach digital and technological skills in music-making. Students gain hands-on learning experience with creative music software, laptops, tablets, microphones and audio mixing consoles. The program equips students with skills in problem solving that are transferable to other arts, academic and career endeavors.
WellMet’s $20,000 grant will be used towards the growth of the organization’s programs and to secure office/studio space.
