The Bronx
REMS, which was founded in 2000, took at-risk kids and introduced them to music and sports. The music program is all day Saturday, including trips to concerts. Sports include a basketball league involving 75 players on 5 different teams. Grant for general operating expenses.
REMS is now in 21 schools (Bronx, Brooklyn, Harlem) serving 1,200 kids weekly and has started a Music on Wheels program which brings instructors and instruments to participating schools.
