Alex House project is a peer-led social service and leadership development organization supporting young, pregnant and parenting mothers and fathers living in NYC, particularly Brooklyn. It offers three programs: Healthy Mom Healthy Baby; the Young Dads program; and the training program to prepare participants to lead the next group of classes. Clients receive parenting education, employment and educational referrals, healthy meals, guidance from local leaders and peer support to develop leadership abilities at the family and community levels.
WellMet’s grant of $25,000 will fund the addition of a program coordinator.
